The Participatory Science Academy (Partizipative Wissenschaftsakademie, PWA) awards Seed Grants for the development and/or implementation of participatory citizen science projects once a year. Teams of academic researchers and citizens can apply for up to 40'000 CHF.
With the Seed Grants, the PWA creates incentives for participatory research. Teams of academic researchers from University of Zurich (UZH) and/or ETH Zurich (ETH) and citizens are thus given the opportunity to jointly develop and/or implement participatory pilot projects. Priority is given to project applications that, in addition to the prospect of excellent research, show a societal need as well as a high degree of participation in as many phases of the research process as possible:
The submission deadline for the Seed Grant call 2023 is 31 March 2023.

Since December 2022, the Seed Grant applications are submitted through a digital application tool. As before, we ask you to use the application form provided below and upload it in the application tool. In addition, you will need the following documents and information to complete the application.
Please note that your application cannot be saved in the PWA application tool and cannot be submitted more than once. Please have the above-mentioned documents and information at hand when starting your application. If you have questions, please feel free to contact the PWA Office.
